When I look at my daughter growing up in this world, I feel both hope and fear. I want her to be strong, but I also know the reality of being a woman of color. Every morning, I pray for her safety, just like generations of mothers before me.

You know, being a mother has taught me so much about love and fear. When I look at my kids, I see this incredible beauty, but I also see the responsibility to protect them in a world that isn't always fair. It's changed everything about how I view life.

When I look at my daughter in school, I see all our children trying to navigate this world. We have to fight for their safety, their dignity, their future. Every mother knows that fear, that constant worry, but for mothers of color, it's a different level of awareness.

You know, as parents, we're all trying to teach our kids about love and acceptance. And sometimes, it's those moments when they teach us instead. They see the world with such pure hearts, without the layers of prejudice that we've had to unlearn. It's... it's beautiful and humbling.
