Title: "There is an Eye Watching You"
Text: Proverbs 15:3, Jeremiah 32:19, Hebrews 4:13
Introduction
For every good and bad you do, there is a an eye watching you. We need to be careful because nothing done is secret and there is a reward for all our daily activities and intentions.
The All-Seeing Eye of God
In Proverbs 15:3, we read, "The eyes of the Lord are everywhere, observing the wicked and the good." This verse reminds us that God's eyes are omnipresent, seeing everything that happens in the world. He observes the wicked and the good, and He knows our every thought, word, and deed.
In Jeremiah 32:19, we read, "Great are your purposes and mighty are your deeds. Your eyes are open to the ways of all mankind; you reward each person according to their conduct and as their deeds deserve." This verse emphasizes that God's eyes are not only all-seeing, but also all-knowing. He knows our motivations, our intentions, and our actions, and He rewards us accordingly.
The Eye of Accountability
In Hebrews 4:13, we read, "Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account." This verse reminds us that we are accountable to God for our actions. We cannot hide anything from Him, and we will one day give an account of our lives to Him.
Living Under the Eye of God
So how should we live, knowing that there is an eye watching us? Here are a few implications:
1. _Live with integrity_: Knowing that God sees everything, we should strive to live with integrity, honesty, and transparency.
2. _Fear God, not man_: When we remember that God's eye is on us, we should fear Him more than we fear man.
3. _Seek God's approval_: Instead of seeking the approval of others, we should seek God's approval, knowing that His eye is on us.
4. _Repent and confess_: When we sin, we should quickly repent and confess our sins to God, knowing that His eye sees everything.
5. Run away from sin
Conclusion
Dear brothers and sisters, remember that there is an eye watching you, an eye that sees everything you do, thinks, and says. Live with integrity, fear God, seek His approval, and repent and confess your sins. May the knowledge of God's all-seeing eye motivate us to live holy and righteous lives, pleasing to Him.
Final Prayer
- "Dear Heavenly Father, we thank you for reminding us that your eye is always on us.
- Help us to live with integrity, to fear you, to seek your approval, and to repent and confess our sins.
- May your eye be our motivation to live holy and righteous lives, pleasing to you. In Jesus' name, Amen."
