Although the N, Q, R and W trains use mostly the same voice for almost every station announcement, some are different. For example, the Q says “Midtown 57th Street-7th Avenue.” In its own version. The R has its own vol1 station announcement for: West 8th St-NY Aquarium, 4th Av 9th St, 75th Avenue, Kew Gardens-Union Tpke, Briarwood-Van Wyck Blvd, Sutphin Blvd, Parsons Blvd, 169 St, and Jamaica-179th Street. And a vol2 type voice used to be heard when entering Forest hills, and can sometimes be heard st Parkside Avenue. The W has some of its own station announcements in Brooklyn. And there’s a W train vol2 transfer at Atlantic Avenue.
